As Speaker of the Assembly, it is my wish that all Californians get out and vote on Election Day.

Voting is a unique and great American experience where all votes count and each vote is treated equally.

I commend BlackVoters.org for spreading the word to encourage Californians to vote. Their work will help us achieve our goal of putting more citizens at the polls.

If you don’t think your vote counts, keep in mind, the future of the Golden State rests in the hands of the voter.
